Wendy Jepsen’s two newest CDs, “Deeper Still”, a studio recording, and “Meeting of the Gaze”, a live devotional worship CD, are now available.  Recorded simultaneously, the two projects share a theme woven throughout both:  the love of God is greater than our weakness, and He desires us to come to Him just as we are, for it is in His presence that we are transformed into His image, “from glory to glory”, so we can share His love with those around us.

Ever since Wendy gave her life to Christ at the age of 19, music became the vehicle for sharing her own spiritual journey through song…in churches and coffeehouses…anywhere people would listen.  Then suddenly, Wendy lost her voice as a result of a respiratory infection.   Although that 2 ½ years was difficult to walk through, she considers the experience a great gift, “…a period of time when I experienced a deepening of intimacy with God as I found His voice to be one of tenderness and mercy (Hosea 2:14-16).  I am still mining the treasures that were deposited in my spirit during that time, and believe one of them is in helping others to realize that the unique song of each heart is precious beyond measure in the courts of Heaven.”

After her voice was  completely restored, Wendy continued to write and sing, while pursuing a career in the field of social work.  After graduate school, she delved into full time music ministry, to explore how music with a spiritual focus can facilitate wholeness in individuals by pointing them to the Healer, Jesus Christ.

While recording her first 2 CDs and traveling around the western U.S., she experienced a diversity of expressions of Christian worship, including free-flowing, spontaneous worship music that delighted and challenged her to explore more fully.  A visit to the International House of Prayer in Kansas City became a profound encounter with God, through the power of “prophetic song”.  “My first time in the prayer room, God performed heart surgery on me during a 2 hour ‘Worship With the Word’ set that focused on Hosea 2:14-16 and wove in passages from Song of Solomon and the New Testament, verses that were very meaningful to me personally.  Only the Holy Spirit could have arranged that divine appointment for me!  As I listened, my heart broke as I realized He was speaking to me through the spontaneous songs flowing through the singers and musicians.  I experienced a healing in my heart of many loose ends that remained from my experience in the wilderness of silence several years before.  I found myself longing for and praying for something similar to be available in Utah.”

In 2009, Wendy helped establish a House of Prayer in Northern Utah, where she served for a year as an intercessory missionary, leading worship and training/developing worship teams to minister in the prayer room.  She has since facilitated several regional prayer and worship events, and is currently leading a worship team at “Upper Room Utah”, a mobile prayer room with a vision to support local congregations by providing a prayer room atmosphere once a month where everyone is welcome to come for any portion of the 2 hours and pray, read, or just “soak” as the sung Word washes over them.

“I have a passion to see the Bride of Christ, His Church come into her fullness by lifting her gaze to meet His…and lifting her voice in an adoring response to the overwhelming Love she finds in His eyes.  I guess this is because this has been my experience…and if my sharing with others through song will help them discover strength for their own journey, it’s worth it all.  My husband Chris is my greatest supporter and has been a strong shoulder for me in times when I would have given up.  He always points me back to Jesus, my Source.  We have two sons who are amazingly gifted young men, with huge God-destinies over their lives.”

“Deeper Still” and “Meeting of the Gaze” are now available.  All proceeds from CD sales go to supporting Wendy’s mission trip to Russia this June.
